1. Precautions for purchase and use of medical gauze
(1) First of all, we should look at the package identification and product instructions of the finished product: there are generally two ways for the finished product, one is non sterile, the other is sterile. It is required that the product instructions or the package of the finished product indicate whether it is sterile or non sterile.
(2) The sterile medical gauze can be used directly, while the non sterile gauze can only be used after being sterilized by high-temperature and high-pressure steam or ethylene oxide.
(3) For medical gauze packed in aseptic way, the packaging mark must indicate the sterilization validity period, factory date or production batch number, instructions or marks for prohibition of package damage, instructions for one-time use or marks for prohibition of reuse. If the package is damaged or exceeds the validity period, it shall not be purchased or used again.
(4) The purchase of medical gauze depends on the appearance of the product. The product should be soft, odorless, tasteless, white in color, free of other fibers and processing substances, and should not display strong blue fluorescence under ultraviolet light.

3. Classification, use, purchase and use precautions of medical bandages
(1) Classification of medical bandages: medical bandages are divided into cotton gauze bandages and elastic bandages.
(2) Use of medical bandage: whether it is gauze bandage or elastic bandage, it is mainly used for binding or fixation.
① Cotton gauze bandage: mainly used for dressing and fixing external wounds in hospitals and families.
② Elastic bandage: It is mainly used for the retention and binding of patients with varicose veins of lower limbs, orthopedics and traumatology, to improve blood circulation and prevent limb swelling. It can also replace the multi headed abdominal bandage after surgery, and is used for the pressure binding of different parts of the human body or the general wound binding.
(3) Precautions for purchase and use of medical bandages: ① They are generally sold as non sterile medical products. If medical bandages are used at the wound site, they should be used in isolation from the wound; ② When purchasing medical bandages, the appearance of the product should be considered. The product should be white, free of yellow spots, pollution, serious weaving defects or broken wires.
